1. Data we collect

Account data: name, email address, optional phone number, city/state and learning preferences you provide at registration.

Learning data: course progress, video-watch positions, quiz and exam attempts, questions you ask, and certificates earned.

Payment data: order details, amounts, GST details and payment status. Card/UPI credentials are processed entirely by our payment gateway (Razorpay) and never touch our servers.

Technical data: device/browser information and access logs used for security and service improvement.

2. How we use data

To deliver purchased courses, track learning progress, issue certificates, process payments and refunds, provide support, send service notifications, and (with consent) send course updates and offers.

Video playback is protected with per-viewer watermarking that overlays your name/email on course videos as a piracy deterrent.

3. Sharing

We share data only with service providers necessary to run the Platform (payment gateway, video-hosting/DRM provider, email/SMS providers), with instructors (limited to your questions and course progress for teaching purposes), and where required by law. We do not sell personal data.

4. Retention and your rights

You may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data by writing to support@gyaniacademy.com. We retain transaction records as required by Indian tax and accounting law even after account deletion.
